About Me

My name is Lindsay Cox and I am a senior business management major and a minor in strategic communication at Mercyhurst University. Upon graduation I intend to enroll at Mercyhurst University in the master's program for Organizational Leadership with the ultimate goal of pursuing a career in higher education.
My interest in higher education dates to the very beginning of my undergraduate career at Mercyhurst College. I quickly became involved in several clubs on campus and began working in the Admissions department as a student assistant. My club and activity involvement, specifically dealing with the departments of Admissions, Alumni and Annual Giving and the Center for Student Engagement and Leadership Development have stimulated my interest and given me a level of experience as I pursue a career in higher education.
Some of my finest achievements in my undergraduate career include maintaining a GPA of 3.76 and being considered a “Dean’s List” scholar. I also am very proud of the positions that I accumulated. My hard work and determination were noticed by both staff and students alike. Specifically, in my senior year, I was elected by me peers as the President of the Ambassador Club and chosen by staff members to be the Chair of the Senior Class Gift Committee and the Chair of Summer Orientation and Welcome Week. Receiving these positions indicated to me that my hard work and dedication to the institution has been noticed and that people on the campus were confident in my capabilities as a leader.
Through my school work and my involvement in clubs and activities, I have been able to maintain a high level of excellence in my work. I am driven to achieve success in all projects that I dedicate myself to. Although I am involved in many activities, I am constantly aware that it is best to be dedicated and loyal rather than accumulating more positions or taking on more tasks that I do not have the capability to complete to the highest level. In addition to the clubs and activities that I partake in, my school work is always of the utmost importance. Working towards a degree in business management and a minor in strategic communication has been challenging but very fulfilling as I am then able to see my skills and knowledge being used in the activities that I am involved in.
